Does your vehicle have a matte or satin finish? Rather it’s painted or wrapped, it’s crucial to keep it properly protected! Unlike a glossy finish, matte and satin cannot be polished and cared for the same. Therefore it’s extremely important to keep it protected from scratches, staining, fading and contaminants. It also creates a drastic improvement in hydrophobic properties and the self-cleaning effect, resulting in your vehicle staying cleaner much longer in between washes and overall being much easier to maintain.
We offer a variety of matte and satin finish ceramic coating options for your vehicle, including a multiple options from Dr. Beasley’s. We also have an option from Gtechniq and a couple from Gyeon. Give us a call at 313.286.4884 for more info and to book your appointment.
Why Special Products for Matte?
Matte, satin and all other non-gloss finishes look the way they do because of the "rough" nature of their surface. Glossy finishes shine because the surface is smooth, causing light to reflect at parallel angles to your eyes, which produces a distinct image, much like a mirror. Non-gloss finishes, on the other hand, have hills and valleys at the microscopic level, which causes light to scatter when reflected. Because the light scatters, not all of it makes it to your eyes, so you get more of a dull sheen instead of a distinct image.
Many car care products contain ingredients like silicone or wax to fill in scratches and produce a smooth surface with a stunning gloss — and that's not what you want to see on a matte finish. For this reason, we've engineered products that protect and maintain without filling in the hills and valleys that give matte its signature non-reflective look. (Source: drbeasleys.com)
